E3 Visa Renewal after marriage

Hi there,

 

I am currently on an E3 work visa which expires this December, 2018. I recently married my fiance and we are planning on applying for a partner visa to move to Australia next year. However, I am hoping to renew my E3 visa so I can stay here and continue to work/live with my husband while we apply and wait for our Australian partner visa. I wondered if it is ok to renew my E3 visa after marrying a US citizen, if I still do not plan on immigrating?

Marriage should not be relevant to the renewal.
