Sorry about you went through this . 

I don's know about good Attorneys in the NYC. but Sandranj is a professional Attorney who helps self VAWA filer here for free. it would be great if you can have help from her in person. 

   My psychologist told me the emotional about is the worst but a lot people don't realized it  . 

   My opion is looking for a good attorney as Sandranj also looking for a good psychologist or therapy .

Abuse is a pattern of humuliation,defradation,isolation,threats etc...just  cursing won't be enough to prove abuse.If the person doesnt have a police report then the person should attend 5/7 therapy sessions and have a psychological evaluation done and if you have a diagnose of depression and/or PTSD then you will be able to prove abuse.

WOW...what a mess,lol. The correct sentence is  "abuse is a pattern of humiliation, degradation,threats etc.
