IR-2 passport kept, no slip issued and asked to wair for 2 weeks

Hi

My nephew had an interview ar US embassy islamabad on oct 1 2018 ubder IR2(child of a us citizen). The interview was tough and was taken in a separate room. At the end of an interview they did not give him any slip 221(g) and kept the passport. They did not even say the word refused or approved. He was told that they will get back in touch with him in 2 weeks. Case status still shows ready and last update is still of oct 1. Can anyone guide us how long will it take approx and what will be the next step?

No one can tell you how long or  the next step.   They may need to look into some things and will issue after they are complete, request more documents or refuse for whatever the reason is that caused his interview to be tough.  You'll just have to wait it out.
