K2's SSN if green card approved before EAD?

My wife applied for and received her Social Security Number soon after arriving in the U.S.  We filed for AOS/EAD/AP for my wife (K1) and her daughter (K2) in July.  Since her daughter could not apply for a SSN without her EAD, we checked the box on the I-765 asking SSA to issue her card.

We now have our AOS interview in less than 3 weeks . . . months before we anticipated and 2 months before VisaJourney's estimate for the approval of their EADs.  If the interview goes well and they receive their green cards soon after,  what happens with the K2's SSN request?  Will the EAD application still be processed and sent to SSA?  Or do we bring the green card to the local SSA office to apply for her number in person?

Thanks - Jason

I called SSA and just got a call back, so want to share the response for others who might have a similar question . . .

According to the SSA representative, once the green card is issued, USCIS will inform SSA.  SSA will automatically issue a social security card to my K2 step-daughter based on the green card, not the EAD application.  She noted that occasionally there are paperwork glitches, so if a card does not arrive within 30 days of the green card approval, we should visit a local SSA office with her green card to request a number.

Hopefully this is as simple as it sounds!
