possibly. and we can assume all day...unless we go meet the family and ask why the heck did he do it, we will never know....maybe he was bored and there WAS nothing on tv. who knows.

let's give the dude a bit of leeway, since no laws were broken, rather than bounce him into hades thru a quickie kangaroo court ;)

i dont remember stating he broke any laws or needed to be bounced into any animal court.

I was just making a statement that i didnt think it was normal or mature of a parent to apply for a gun for their 10 MONTH old baby. excuse me for not agreeing with everyone else on this matter.

I agree with you its ludicrous!!!

What we gonna do next buy him a machette to play with??

i stated before a reason why the father could have done this. personally, i don't see why everyone is up in arms about it. it's not like the 10 month old has the gun in his hands and is playing with it - it's just about legal ownership, nothing more.

i had no idea doing something legal is ludicrous :help:

all this did was make him the legal owner. it does not mean he will have it on his person like a cch, or fire it without adult supervision. so what's the problem again?

So if that's the case what would be the purpose to apply for a license unless someone else was going to carry on his person or use it?

one reason already stated above - father wants to make sure the kid retains ownership of it

here's a bit more after a brief search -

Grandpa Ludwig, an avid trap shooter, explained he wanted an heirloom for his first grandson. He plans to engrave his name on the trigger guard.

The Wife wasn't excited.

Even with a valid FOID card, Bubba can't go into a gun shop and buy a long gun until he is 18. He has to wait until 21 to buy a handgun.

There are other laws on the books in Illinois that make it a crime for an adult to let a child under 14 have access to a gun if the gun is used improperly. It is part of their safe storage law.
