Showing legal status for a bank

So a couple of weeks ago, I tried adding my now wife (thru K1 marriage) to my credit union account so we could begin showing evidence that we share an account.  They wanted some sort of ID that showed proof of her residence.  So we got a state ID and go back, but they say the ID is only good until the date as shown on the I94 and that we need proof that she will be here after the 90 days.  Luckily we were able to open an account with Bank of America.  But I told my credit union that I don't think there is any such proof until we receive the NOA2 from USCIS and that we needed her on my account to show we are sharing the account before the approval.  My question is: there is no other proof to show beyond the 90 days of her permanent status correct until NOA2?  I am guessing that now that we were able to open one with BoA, I will likely switch my direct deposit and let my credit union become a secondary account and think about their rules lol. Even with an updated SSC, a state ID, and account with a big bank, they will not let her join my account. If there is proof beyond that which I mentioned though, I'd like to know.

That seems strange. Did they specifically ask for ID or just proof of residence? If they asked for proof of residence, would not something like her name on a utility bill have sufficed? Although some banks request a social security number, it seems odd that they'd want an ID showing proof of residence. Heck, I opened a credit union account over the phone; I think they asked for my DL and SSN numbers, but they didn't see those cards. Glad you got it sorted with another bank.

We provided the state ID, passport, had mail from the Secretary of State, hell even showed them the noa1 and uscis website to show we sent in her AoS. They wanted proof that she would still be legal here after the 90 days. I told them that she cannot leave as it is until she gets approved. Not sure why a bank would need to dig so deep when others had no problem with it. Sucks to be them as they have outlived their usefulness now.
