Hello,

While waiting for the K-1 visa approval, my girlfriend planned another trip here to the States. She is from Singapore, one of the visa-waiver countries. However, when she filled out the ESTA application because her old one expired, she received a notice saying "Travel Not Authorized". Why is this?

Respectfully, no one here would even be able to fathom a guess without knowing how your girlfriend filled out the ESTA application. There could be many reasons, and really she would need to make the inquiry herself.

Thank you for the quick reply! I guess what we need to know is, what we're doing is not actually illegal or anything right? Is it possible to fly here before the K-1 visa is approved?

Nevermind, she filled out the application incorrectly...

Sorry to hear that, but yes you are able to enter on an ESTA during the K1 process to answer your question, and to anyone else who may have the same one. I hope you manage to get everything sorted out soon.
