Hello world, I have read alot of your forums and have gotten alot of really good sources and information but let me just share my story so maybe someone can analyse it and help me out. I am currenlty here in Sunny San Diego in the Military and my better half is in Sydney Australia. We both went to school in Tonga and we separated soon after we graduated in 1998. We are now engaged but ofcourse our families want us to do the traditional wedding in Tonga on December 15th 2007. We are planning to go to Fiji for the honeymoon thereafter and since the U.S. embassy is there, I was wondering if I can just walk in with my package or what would I need? I really want to come back with her right after as my leave expires early January and was wondering if it was possible to submit my package in the fijian consulate and just fly back to San diego together while we wait for approval. Pls help for this is really confusing me on what my options may be. I just dont want to waste any time from now until December. Any comments are welcome and congrats to all that have suceeded. Tu'a 'Ofa atu.

She would need some kind of visa to travel to the USA. Any visa interview would be in her home country. Unless you both live in the same country now, you must file your I-130 with the applicable US service center based on your State of residence. Unless she has tourist or other visa already, (or is a citizen of a visa waiver country, you don't mention her citizenship, just her residence.) you will be returning without your wife. If she CAN accompany you hear, she will return to the appropriate Consulate/Embassy abroad for her visa interview.

This assumes YOU are a US Citizen. Please fill in the blanks.
