DCF London I-864 question

 hi!

 

for form I-864 (required as myself the US petitioner, and my husband UK beneficiary are both working/residing in the UK) - my parents will do spinsir. Do my parents need to fill out individual forms, do they jointly fill out 1, please help!

One parent will do the I-864 and the other should file an I-864A, assuming they file taxes jointly.

 

If they are separated, only an I-864 from one parent is needed.

perfect - thank you! and from question 1 it's the info of the respective parent, not any of my info, right? i'm probably overthinking this just wanted to make sure.

 

for interview, do i need to bring any financial/lease information to show shared finances and cohabitation?

Well as the US citizen spouse you'll be required to be the primary sponsor, so you'll have to fill out an I864 as well. That one should have your info even if your US income is zero. Your parents will fill out the I864 and I864A using their own info.

i'm glad i asked! i was under the impression it was only for co-sponsors. i will need 1 i-864, and 2 i-864a's (if i need both parents to sponsor)?

Glad to help. You're still a little off. You'll have 2 I864s and 1 I864A. The I864A is meant for members of the same household as a sponsor whose income will be used as well. In your case, assuming your parents file their taxes jointly, your dad can be your primary sponsor and will fill our his own I864. Your mom's income can be included but since she is a member of your dad's household, she'll only have to fill out the I864A.

ah ok so 1 i-864 for me (no USA income at the moment as living in the UK), 1 for dad, and i-864a for mom (they do file taxes together).

It's recommended that you bring extra evidence of your relationship if you can. In practice I don't think they ask for it much, but better to have it and not need it. You'll definitely want to bring evidence to support the stated income of anything named on the I864s. Tax transcripts/W2s for the past year are required, but bring pay stubs, bank account statements (if using assets), etc just to be safe.

Agreed with the above responses. One I-864 from you, 1 I-864 from a parent, and 1 I-864A from the other parent.

Yes, bring other evidence with you...no reason not to have it on hand just in case.

I’ve got questions on part 5 and part 6 of I-864. 

 

Filling it out for myself - household size therefore is 2 (no kids). When my dad/mom fills this out (mom will fill out I-864a)  do they include my husband and I in their household size?

Also, when my dad fills out I-864, it asks if you’re the 1st or 2nd or joint sponsors, would this be accurate or do I need to make note that there will be 3?

Does my mom really need to fill in I-864a if I-864 (that my dad would fill out) asks for income from any other person in your household (asks name, relationship, income of that supplemental person)

They only include the immigrant. The US citizen spouse is not immigrating, (they're simply moving back).

Yes, lots of these forms have redundant questions. In the I130, for example, you have to list your spouse 2-3 times. They make no assumptions about anything, so the redundancy helps clear things up.

am i still eligible to fill out i-864 if my country of domicile is not the USA currently, but will be re-establishing there?

 

i'm filling it out with citizen path just to double check everything, and it's said i'm not eligible to be a sponsor due to that?

for part 6, can i count my spouse (the immigrant i'm sponsoring) in my household size whose income counts in my household?
