I'm up for a nut-hanging on this one as well. Thats just wrong and yeah, whatever, free speech - if they'd said that about ME, I'd be calling my lawyer pronto. And not because I don't have a sense of humor - I do, and it's actually quite twisted sometimes - but anyway, that's just amazingly bad form for anyone human.

Jay,

They were just joking around. You see, guys say things like that all the time:

I wouldn't kick her out of bed!

Oh yeah, I'd give her one anytime!

I'll take her from behind and make her scream like a virgin!

etc etc

It's just macho tough guy talk and it doesn't mean anything. It certainly doesn't

mean they condone rape or violence against women or anything even remotely

close to that.

Oh I totally get you Mark, I do - and I've heard the comments you've quoted a million times, but

"Punching her in the f - - -ing face and f - - -ing her,"

?

I mean that's just really really bad! I mostly have male friends and you guys, tsk tsk tsk - but that would really make me mad, you know? I dunno - I am usually totally col with most things, and you know I'm not easy to offend or to shock, but that... You know what it probably is - it's probably because I've actually been through what they're implying, that's probably what it is.

Woah you made me psychologize myself! Now I have to go and make some tea - I promised myself "no more tea until 7pm" but now look what you made me do. It's all your fault :P :P

You can listen to the actual audio here...

It's very much in the line of things Howard Stern has done in the past. I don't think it's even mildly amusing, but apparently there's an audience for this kind of humor.

Now, I am NOT - I repeat, NOT being Anti-American (land of the brave and the free etc etc) here but let's get real...in England, ya wouldn't get away with that. Y'ed never get away with that in a month of blue moons under any circumstances - you would be called a moron and publicly shamed by official sources, made to apologize and donate money to an anti-rape charity. That's just the truth. What a coupla loonies they are to be saying that kind of nasty cr@p.

Eh...don't be so sure about that. I live in the UK, and I hear things similar to that with regards to the US administration...and worse...on the radio or on TV pretty regularly, and I've never seen anyone apologize for it. They say things about us that they could not get away with saying about any Brit. It's a total double standard.

Well, I can only speak of my own experiences in the UK. I'm not trying to be smart, or say any country is better than another, but I am able to see differences between the culture here and the culture there. Actually, I once defended a bunch of American guys against a bunch of very rude British bouncers - there are a$$holes in both cultures, it's true. I just have to admit, I've seen more rudeness here - and I can only say that from the point of view of living where I live. Perhaps it's not the same everywhere. I have a lot of decent friends here, and a lot of decent friends over there - but people are different.

Maybe it's just where you live. *shrug*

although i don't agree with what they said.. it's not really a weird thing that dudes say.. of course they don't mean it.. but haven't u ever heard of a donkey punch, a strawberry shortcake or bismark? it's very very crude guy's humor.. that sometimes it's funny, but doesn't mean they'd do it

People are soooo sensitive now-a-days. They're just words people.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

As deplorable as it is... it is protected free speech.

oh yeah, talking about committing a violent act on a woman because of her politics. what's next, advocating mass rape at the republican convention?

eta: there's some things that just cross the line..........

What do you think should be done then Charles? Do you want to fine the DJ's or the guest who was making the statements - throw him jail? On what grounds?

is that the point or was the point about them making fun/advocating a violent act towards a woman due to her politics? although i don't like hillary, i'd certainly not run off at the mouth about her like these two fopchucks have about connie.

there's some things one does not joke about - i'd like to see them tossed in jail for making threats towards a public official, but that won't happen due to some writing off their remarks as free speech (which could well be taken as a threat).

The first amendment was obviously created to allow people to have a voice in political matters and be able to participate in their choice of religion as these where suppressed under the English monarchy. Whereas nowadays people have taken it totally out of context and are basically misusing it as a disclaimer to say or do anything.

I highly doubt they wanted disgusting comments like that to be protected by any law.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.
