I, personally, would give them a call and explain to them you have received no biometrics appt as yet. Normally you received the biometrics appt not long after the NOA1, usually within the week.

Some people would say, no big deal. I am just using my daughter's case as an example, I got my biometrics appt back in Sept, my NOA was in August. Nothing for my daughter, til 7 MONTHS later (Same NOA date), now her case is held up because of it, as she hit her 14th Birthday in the meantime and has to now go through name & background check, which of course they can't start doing til they get your biometrics. And without it you cannot be issued a GC as they use the fingerprint and photo they take on the day for it, same with EAD if you applied for one.

IMHO.

Definitely schedule an infopass appointment. The biometrics is crucial to AOS and EAD as kaffykat pointed out. Good luck!

Thank you guys.

I have called them 5 times in a roll and i got 5 different answers, completely different. How this could be possible?

I was told that everything is fine and i have to wait 90 days to get the appointment.

Basically cause no-one really has any idea what is supposed to happen, they tell you 30 days, 60 days, 90 days and 180 days or more before you can request they get something done about it and then you have to wait, 45 days, 60 days or longer, depending on the operator to get an answer.

They still can't get their heads around if you are transferred to CSC for AOS you will get approval without an interview, unless of course, you get transferred back again.

Infopass, in a lot of cases, can be just as frustrating. Just make sure you take your marriage certificate along with your NOA and your passport with you when you attend, otherwise they won't believe you are who you say you are, even though your A# on your visa in your passport is the same as the NOA and you have photos on both. I reckon their IQ level drops when they get a job there and they can no longer think independantly.

I would like to see these people trained appropriately when they hike up the fees, to have some kind of justification for it, but I don't doubt that is going to happen and we are still going to get different answers to the same questions, depending on the operator.

That's why forums like these are a necessity for people going through this process, can you imagine how you would of fared without it and only using the USCIS 'capabilities', or is that 'culpabilities'????

From what I have heard the USCIS hotline is deemed the "misinformation line" which is why you got 5 different answers when you called. Your best bet is to schedule an infopass appt at your local office. Some people's local ASC site may be a busier one and therefore putting delays, but you don't want everything held up because of your biometrics not being done.

Good luck,

Kristina

Hi There,

i was just wondering if this has happened to anybody else.

I don't know if this is worth anything to share but I know of a friend before whose case was transferred to CSC before the biometrics. She did not call up or anything, she just waited. Biometrics notice & appointment came later on, after about 3 weeks.

Hope you get your biometrics notice soon!
