Hi there😊 Have you checked your case status on the CEAC website? Use your application ID on the DS-160 confirmation or your case number to check your status. Once the status says "in transit and then "ready" you will be able to schedule your interview but will first need to pay the $265 visa fee in Guyana and in person for K1 (someone else that is in Guyana can make the payment for you at the bank). Once this fee is paid, you will have access to the calendar and will be able to schedule an interview. You will receive interview confirmation and use that to email Havana for document check and medical exam. Check status here⬇️

Thank you for responding. I checked the status and says "ready". My confusion is that the visa fee$265 needs to be paid in Guyana, but we are still in the states and don't know anybody in Guyana that can pay the fee for us. So does that mean we have to travel to Guyana, pay the visa fee, and then schedule our interview. How are we suppose to travel to Guyana without having an interview date first. It just doesn't make sense to me. Please help! Thanks again.

As nonsensical as it sounds, paying the visa fee in person is currently the only solution. They have not resolved this issue or made it possible to pay online. People have made friends with others in the same situation and have buddied up to make the payment for others while they are in Guyana. It is not ideal but it's better than hopping on a plane to make a payment.

Hi, I got instructions from the US embassy in Georgetown that I need to set up the visa interview for my Fiance, and we are having the same issue. I am hesitant to send money to anyone. Did you figure this out? I am freaking out because they are not responding, I also contacted the Scotia bank to see if I could do a wire transfer and they said no, the US embassy is not responding my emails.

Is the payment of $265 for fiancé or for spouses as well??

The payment for immediate relative and family preference applications (processed on the basis of an approved I-130, I-600 or I-800 petition) is currently $325 and you will not have to make the payment in Guyana. Once your case is approved it will be sent to NVC and you will receive instructions to make payment online through The Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC). More info on the process here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/immigrant-visa-for-spouse.html#6

Unfortunately, you will not be able to set up a wire transfer and the embassy will not respond. Private message me and I will try to help. There are agencies in Guyana that can help with this.

Im on the same boat. Inviting my sister to visit us to the USA can be quite confusing. No having family in Guyana and living in USA, going to Guyana to pay this fee makes no sense... Does anyone has info about what trusted agency in Guyana can make this deposit that is needed for the visa? Thanks for all your help in advance.
