Beneficiary passport expiration

Beneficiary’s passport expires first part of next year. It takes a while to renew the passport in the beneficiary’s country so we want to go ahead and submit the I-129F form with the current passport. I’m aware that when we end up traveling to the US the passport will need at least 6 months validity and by that time we will have the new passport already.

My question is if we use the current passport on the application (which expires first of 2019), will this cause complications later? I would think we could submit the application and then go renew the passport within the next month afterwards. I also figured that if we renewed the passport before the application then they would not get to see the old passport which would have all the entry/exit stamps with proof of our travels together. I did find some similar posts but didn’t think it was specifically this situation.

No issue. Most people renew their passports during the process. If they can keep the old one then you can show both at the interviews, otherwise make copies of the bio page and all relevant pages with stamps to show them later on if needed.
