Hi Everyone,

New here. I had my interview done Feb 21, 2018, and didn't get a recommendation for approval. Later, I was RFEed for marriage certificate (my application is not based on marriage). I submitted my marriage certificate very soon. I didn't get any response or update till now. I contacted the senators. Today, I got a message from the senator. It says

Our records indicate that the case is under further review by an officer. All evidence submitted  in support of the application for the immigration benefit being sought is being examined.

Cases may require additional review for a variety of reasons. It is difficult to predict with accuracy when this review will be completed.  Every effort is being made to render an accurate and final decision.

Does any one know what's the exactly mean? What reasons for further review? How long will they reach a decision?

Kinda panic now.

Thanks,

Reviews can happen for a variety of reasons and it’s perfectly normal. Sometimes supervisors have to take a look at it after an interview as part of the process. USCIS has 120 days post interview to make a decision though, so you can take further inquiry steps necessary should in case that timeframe elapses and it still hasn’t been adjudicated. Keep fingers crossed and keep ‘em days counting. Good luck!

Thank you for the response. I had my interview at Chicago field office. I am from China. It's has been 120 days since my interview, and that's the reason I asked the Senators to step in. Now USCIS responded that they need additional review, and it just freaked me out. I don't know how long I need to wait.

BTW, on the N652, it's said that I can request a hearing 120 days after interview. Today is 120 days. Even the senator got me the update that my case is under further review, should USCIS make a decision by today? Should I call USCIS to talk to tier 2 officer? Thanks.
