Passed the test, decision cannot yet be made about your application

Hi all,

End of April I had naturalization interview. It went well. There were two IO officers. The officer who was interviewing me asking question to another one to make sure that she is doing everything correct. I was really happy. I signed 2 or 3 forms. At the end they gave me the N652. They checked two thing. One, you passed the test of English and US history and government and another one- a decision cannot yet be made about your application. 

I asked them the reason. They said that I don't need to worry. I passed the test. They just don't have my file yet. I did not understand what did that that mean. So, I asked them again if I need to provide them anything from my side. They told me everything is fine. They don't need anything from me. I will hear back from them within 2 weeks. They even told me that there are 2 oath ceremonies in a month. So, I should expect mine in June.

I don't have any criminal history. Me and my husband applied together. He also had his interview that day and he got oath letter. I submitted my application online in February. Everything was moving fine. In fact after interview, my online status did not update yet. It's still showing "we have scheduled your interview" which basically was there before interview.

 

It's almost close to 2months. No status update. What should I do?

Submit an online e-inquiry incase the oath letter was sent out and never arrived in the mail.  That would be my first suggestion.

 

Second suggestion would be to call USCIS and ask to be transferred to speak to an L2 immigration officer who can see if you are still in line for your ceremony to be scheduled (or incase notice was previously sent out about it and never arrived).

Thank you so much for your suggestion. I don't think they sent out letter. If they did that my online status would have been updated. It's still showing same.

 

Can you tell me which number I should call? I called at 1-800-375-5283, but it did not give me any option. Please help!

You can't always rely on the online status to be accurate or updated all the time.

For example...I became a citizen in October 2018....my online status still says they are reviewing my case and will let me know if there are any updates.

Call the USCIS number and press 1, then 2, then 1 (I believe this is the sequence) to speak to a customer service rep....when you get them, then ask to be transferred to an L2 officer.

Thank you so much. I called them. Waiting for L2 IO to give me a call back because of high call volume. Don't know how much information I will get. Because the customer service rep was telling me that it's not even 90days. So you will hear same thing what I said. Thinking what should I ask.

Tell them you want to verify that you are in line for the oath ceremony after an approved interview, and ensure you didn't miss any mail from them.

But I did not get approval. I got "decision cannot yet be made". They said most likely I will be schedule in June. But did not hear back anything.

If the IO was talking about when your oath ceremony would be, chances are they were recommending you for approval

I know. I will inform you once I talk to IO.

I talk to the L2 IO. She said that our field office is busy. It's very normal. She did not see anything wrong in my account. She advised me to open a SR in July.

Hope so. Still waiting...

 

L2 officer told me to do e-request in July. She said that way it will go directly to field office.  

 

Only thing I don't know is which request I need to do. Under e request there is only one option that I can use. "Outside Normal Processing Time". But I heard that technically USCIS has 120days.

 

Let's see...

Still no response. Should I wait till 90days before I do service request under "Outside Normal Processing Time"?
