Hey guys,

so I'm doing DCF in Seoul and have my interview next Monday (June 11th). I posted in this forum because my question is about police certificates. I lived in Peru for 2 years and there are 3 background checks- Antecedentes Policiales, Antecedentes Judiciales and Antecedentes Penales. I have the Antecedentes Penales because I was able to obtain it from the embassy here however it is only valid for 3 months and expires on the 18th of June. For the other 2 I had to send power of attorney to someone in Lima (an employee of the company my husband worked for). They have everything they need apart from a photocopy of my passport with an apostille which had to be sent from Ireland (my home country) and although it was sent a month ago it still has not been delivered.

To cut a long story short, I won't have the Antecedentes Policiales in time for my interview, the Antecedentes Judiciales should arrive this week.

Should I reschedule my interview? If I go ahead with the interview minus the Antecedentes Policiales will it be a case of sending it in as soon as I get it or will there be a long administration process?

The Peruvian embassy told me to say that I cannot get the other certificates because I don't have anyone in Peru and that I should be ok with just the Antecedentes Penales but I highly doubt that.

Any advice or experience dealing with Peruvian background checks for interviews outside of Peru would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi pushbrk, thank you for the reply.

I looked at that link a million times and have read through any thread on here with the keywords of the three certificates but I am still not so confident. On the reciprocity page under "Police, Court and Prison Records" it looks like I need for sure the Antecedentes Policiales (the one that I don't have) and not the other two unless the interview is in Lima. Others have commented in different threads that the Antecedentes Policiales is not needed but I can only get information on interviews  which have taken place in Peru.

Am I overlooking something from the link that you quoted?

Thanks for the assistance!

I'm not sure.  You can only take what you have and find out if it is sufficient or not.
