I think the doctors are supposed to tell you if something came up abnormal in the testing.

That would make sense; it wouldn't be fair to the patient otherwise...

I was denied copies of the original medical documents, also. However, when I crossed at the POE, I explained the AOS process and asked the officer if it was possible for him to make me a copy of the vaccination worksheet. He not only did that but gave me copies of ALL the medical documents "just in case". (Bless him.)

I don't believe the Immigration Docs would let one go through all the expense and worry of travelling to Montreal if they thought something in the medical would be grounds for denial

They do tell you. When I got my medical I had a chest cold. Doc Doane said this may show on your x-ray and if it does you'll have to get another to show it cleared.

Sure enough it showed he called me 2 days after the medical told me wait 2 weeks for it to clear up then get another x-ray and have my family doctor send the radiologist report and his own treatment and diagnosis back to him

This was done and he called telling me the medical was okay now and it was being sent by courier to me

You have too many other things to get done without worrying about what is not in your control.

I'm hoping that when I have my exam done the doc knows how to read the x-rays since i had a ultra sound done two weeks age and I have a benign cyst on each kidney which needs to be re-check in a year or two.

Ron

So true!!! Thanks!!! Hope your exam goes okay

It was the Buffalo Peace Bridge. They were all very nice there. (Well, maybe the people getting grilled didn't think so. But they were trying to cross illegally and the agents handling them didn't take kindly to that. lol)

Paperclipped to the outside of my sealed envelope and x-ray envelope was an extra copy of the vaccination worksheet, which I didn't even ask for. So apparently, Dr Stewart just automatically gives one.

You cannot get copies of your medical report, just the Vaccination Worksheet. The envelope stays sealed until POE, and then only the immigration officers look at it.

You will need the Vaccination Worksheet later on for AOS, so make sure you ask them for a photocopy. You can then take the worksheet to the civil surgeon in the U.S. to get the Vaccination Supplement (I-693A) done for AOS. The civil surgeon in our area charged us $35.00 to transfer the information from the worksheet onto the supplement.

Edit: I just read the post above, and was not aware that copies of the medical report were possible. We were told at our medical that it was not possible. Maybe things have changed since I had mine done.

That's okay! I find it a bit strange that people couldn't get photocopies before - if I was worried that I had one of those diseases, etc. (thankfully I'm not :)) I would hate to find out at the border (or is it the interview?)!

If you had a disease, your doctor would be talking to you about it, not someone at the border!
