Most smokers I see have no consideration and throw their butts anywhere they want. Even out car windows.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

When I was smoking, I was always *extra* paranoid about starting a fire...and I liked to dump/clean the ashtrays a lot...so I would always, always dump some water in there with the butts first before I threw them in the garbage, and never threw one on the ground without stomping it out after. Just carelessness and no reason for it...esp. on someone else's property...some people do have an awful lot of nerve! M.

Wow that sucks. Glad you're all OK though, could have been much worse!
Maybe they can investigate who threw the butt?

I'm sure the CSI guys are DNA fingerprinting the butt right now!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

They'll never catch who did it, and even if they did they wouldn't put him in jail; nobody died. Doesn't make flicking lit cigarette butts OK, but let's be realistic.

Yeah, and?

I extinguish a cigarette before tossing it out the window, so it doesn't start a fire...and when I'm in town I drop the butt on the ground, step on it to put it out, then pick it up and put it in a trash can. Yeah, we're all such littering a$$holes. Don't generalize or anything though...wouldn't want that. It's not like non-smokers are any better with litter, or passive aggressive behavior. I get sick of smoking OUTDOORS and seeing morons come by waving their hands in front of their noses and doing drama coughs. STFU. I'm outside, what more do you what? Besides, you'll get more crud in your lungs from the minivan you drove here in anyway. Jacka$$es.
