Hey everyone,

So my mom and I finally received our 10-year permanent resident cards. I applied with her before I turned 18 and we had received the conditional 2-year cards in February of 2015. After we applied to remove the conditions and a lot of waiting, we finally got the 10-year cards three days ago.

I know that since my mom is married and my step-dad is a US-born citizen, she's allowed to apply for US citizenship even if only three years and a few months passed. Can I apply as well, being her son? Or will I have to wait another year and 9 months. If it matters, I'm 21 now.

Thanks!

Your mom is allowed to file after being married for 3 year to her USC husband. You on the other hand, will have to wait for a total of 4 years and 9 month and fullfill all requierements of residency of 35 month in the USA. I may be mistaken, but that is how it usually goes.
