Got a question about form i-134. I currently need about $22,000 to support a household of 2 people, right? My dad used my income on paper to support our stepmom about three years ago, that means i'm technically unable to support my fiance for five years if i am supporting my stepmom, right? What would you guys advise me to do when filling out my affidavit of support form?

If you signed an I-864 or I-864A and are still responsible for that individual, then they must be included in your household size for any future I-134/I-864/I-864A.

The CO makes the final call. Some want to see the 100% level for the I-134, some want to see the 125% level, and some may even want to see more. They look at the totality of your circumstances to make the public charge decision.

 

If you don't meet the financial requirements, then you should either look at ways to meet the requirement (second job / more hours? Assets?) or seek a co sponsor (assuming the embassy accepts one...most do but some COs only accept them on a case by case basis).

I could get two co-sponsors or as many as I need to meet the guidelines.(all of them here in the U.S.) If I use a co-sponsor should i fill out an individual form for everyone? Does the Montreal embassy accept co-sponsors?

There's not really a point in having more than one co sponsor. Each sponsor (or co sponsor) must meet the requirements on their own...they cannot combine incomes across sponsors. That may sound odd if you filed an I-864A to combine income with your dad for you stepmom's case, but that was a household agreement not a joint sponsorship. The I-134 has no household agreement capability...only sponsors.

 

Each sponsor completes an I-134 and provides supporting evidence.

Montreal accepts co sponsors the last I've heard...I'm usually pretty up to date with Canada, but I will defer to others if they have heard anything different in recent history.

If they are using their bank accounts as assets for the I-134, then bank statements are one way to show evidence supporting the amount they claim on it. If they are using income only, then there's no need to specify assets or provide evidence of them.

got another question I received my noa2 in february, should I have received my hard copy approval notice by now?

Generally you get the approval notice in the mail within a week or 2, although they say give it up to 30 days. So yes, you should have received it by now. You can contact USCIS and request that they resend it if you never got it.

how would you go about advanced parole once my fiance is in the U.S.? Everybody I know of almost always have to wait for about six months before their advanced parole is complete, and I have noticed posts on this website that say only 3-4 months. what forms does one need and how to file them?

Once he/she enters on K-1 visa, you have 90 days to marry. Once married, you need to file for AOS (I-485). You should also file for AP (I-131) and EAD (I-765) at the same time so she can travel abroad an work. The current average is about 4 months for the EAD + AP to get approved. Some people take less time, and some are hitting 5 and 6 months.

Good day geowrian  got a question, Me and my fiance have been approved to make an appointment in Montreal, but there are no apointments available. How does someone go about to schedule an apointment? Also we have made an account for us, but we have not been able to submet any payment, what the deal with that?
