So, along with the notification from the NVC saying they've sent off our K1 packet to the consulate, they sent us an email saying they've approved our request for an expedite. The thing is...we never requested one. I didn't even know that was a thing you could do, lol.

The only reason I could think of is that maybe it's because USCIS lost a page of our petition and had to send a RFE for a replacement page? Has anyone else had a random expedite they didn't ask for?

What does it mean? Does the whole rest of the process now go faster, or was it just the NVC part that was sped up? They definitely didn't have our packet very long.

This notification seems to be coming as a routine notification.. and you are right.. it doesn't make any sense.. no one asked for expediting... the files pass through the NVC quickly.. as the NVCs only task with K1 is assigning the case number.. no one's case is actually being expedited despite being told it was.... this is normal processing procedure and times...  another examp,e of a generic letter that has not be properly assessed before putting it into service.... 😁

Are you sure? I have a consultant I hired for the process and he's been doing this for 14 years and has never had a case expedited.

Same thing just happened to me and to a fellow brazilian: we received an email early this morning stating we had our interviews cancelled, but we didn't even have our interviews booked (We had Case Complete on Jan 14 and 16th). A few hours later, we received another email saying our cases were expedited. Now they're on the way to the US Embassy in Rio, and they will book our interview straight away with us.

My husband and I are speechless and absolutely happy!!
