Our lawyer wrote inconsistent information on the cover letter for our I-129F. How do we fix that?

I got a copy of our application in the mail from our lawyers office. I was going through it and noticed a couple of seemingly minor inconsistencies:

  • The first and minor one is a wrong state abbreviation.

  • The second one lists three dates when I visited my fiancé in the states in the past year, but in one of them I didn’t even see my fiancé because he was out of the country, I was just visiting some friends.

The application has already been sent and received. Should I worry about this? How do I get in touch with the USCIS to fix it?

Personally I dont think the two itens you listed would affect your application, but this is what I think. Your city info, they will probably just enter that into their system and find the correct abbreviation, as far as the visits, you`d probably be asked during the interview and my recommendation is to be honest and share the purposes of your visit.

 

Like I said, I dont believe you will receive any RFE due this two things, but if you do, just correct them and send it back.

9/01/17  --- Biometrics letter notice for I-485 & I-765 & I-131  

9/11/17  --- Biometrics Appointment Done

10/17/17 - Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview

11/30/2017 - EAD/AP Approved
12/01/2017 - Card in Production
12/05/2017 - Received Approval Notice in the Mail
12/06//2017 - Card Mailed (Priority Mail) to Me
12/07/2017 - Card Received 

1/19/18  --- Interview Date 2/21

2/21/18  ---  Approved on the Spot

  • 1 hour after the interview received uscis mobile app alert
  • Status changed from "Interview is scheduled" to "New Card Is Being Produced

2/26/18  --- Received hard copy of NOA for the Green Card

2/26/18  --- USCIS Mobile Status changed to "Card was mailed to me"

2/28/18 --- Permanent Resident/Green Card received :jest:

" Have you tried the search tool? K1 isnt an easy process and a LOT of reading is required to avoid problems (RFEs) etc, if you dont like reading, be prepared to spend WAY more time and couple more $$$ with an lawyer "

I do not believe that you are going to receive an RFE for this, but a personal advice, before sending any document, tell your lawyer to send you, check everything, ask what you have in doubt, do everything with 100% certainty. immigration process is complicated the more you know and are sure, will help, good luck :)
