I just wanted to double check something....

So, my husband and I got married in November last year. We are currently in the process of a CR1 visa, we have had our NOA1, so as you can see we are just at the beginning of the process.

I am flying out to California to see my husband in march. My passport is still in my maiden surname, will I need to get my passport done in my married name so that I won't be denied entry? Or is it ok to take my passport and my marriage certificate? Basically when they ask me at the border why I am entering the USA, I want to be honest and say I am visiting my husband, but what if they question why I haven't changed my passport name.

If I have to change it I will, but I only really just changed it last year and it's so expensive! But obviously, I have to do what I have to do to avoid being denied entry. Maybe I am overthinking it too much! If anyone has any experience or knowledge in this area it would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

yeah it's perfectly fine. a lot of people get married but still travel with passports in their maiden names so you have nothing to worry about there. but make sure you bring your marriage certificate as well as your NOA1 copies and any other document that proves you still have ties to the UK and that you will be leaving after the visit.
