I paid for a couple at the country office where I picked mine up after we got married, so I just sent the USCIS one of them. Others have given just front/back copies of it. I don't think anything is set in stone though. GOod luck!

April 13/06 NOA1 from NSC

June 1/06 - Moved to CSC

August 12/06 APPROVED - NOA2!!

August 28/06 Left NVC. . . Vancouver Bound!

September 27/06 Interview APPROVED, with visa in hand

October 29/06 Moving Date

December 30/06 Married!!

January 16/07 Sent out AOS, EAD, and AP docs

January 23/07 NOA1's for AOS, EAD and AP

February 13/07 Biometrics in Portland, OR

Photo copy will do. Just bring the original marriage certificate on your interview appointment.

You might be able to get away with sending a photo copy, but I'm pretty sure it states in the instructions that it must be a certified copy. I would get the certified copies from the county office where you got married just to be sure. You can try sending a photo copy, but you might get an RFE asking for the real deal.

You will get both opinions. We didn't want to chance anything so we sent a certified copy. It wasn't expensive and we went ahead and paid for a few certified copies.

We just sent in a photocopy. Never got a chance to show our original as we were transferred to CSC and subsequently approved without interview.

08/17/08: Mailed N400 to TSC

08/19/08: USPS attempted delivery

08/20/08: TSC received N400

08/21/08: TSC cashed check

09/02/08: Received NOA...........Priority date: 08/20/08
