Applied for citizenship and still waiting for the interview

Hi guys, I just applied for my citizenship N400 application back on October 2017 and I got my biometric taken a month later. And since then i never heard back from them. Is there anyone knows when will they send me the interview letter? How long it usually takes ? I have a friend from Kentucky, the whole process with him took like 6 month. But I don't know if Chicago the same or longer since its big city!! Oh I also have a friend from Louisiana it took with him 14 weeks!!

It takes 6 months or more. Chicago has a lot of people applying for citizenship because it is a big city.

if yours is not an online application, then it  unfortunately will be a slow process.

If you are a paper application then Chicago is processing mid-April 2017 filers. My husband is also a Chicago filer and he's still waiting for a interview. Online applications have a faster turn around.

Yes like @Steelers1020 we are also May filers still waiting. Paper filing was a huge mistake it seems because online are flying through.

There is no online application I think? I read that on uscis website. And when did your husband apply?

My friend didn't fill it online and the whole process was almost 6 month but he is in Kentucky!!

There is online application, but at that time not as many people knew about it or believed in it.

USCIS officially released it recently, and encourages people to file N-400 online. You can look at their official page here. https://www.uscis.gov/n-400

Six month wait is normal. I have been waiting for ten months for an interview.

10 months nooo lol I just have to move as soon as possible and don't want to move till I get over with this. 😏

I'm a NYC filer and was waiting for 7 months finally today January 18 they scheduled my interview! Hang in there u still have time to wait

7 month since the day you sent them the application?

I filed in February of 2017, had my biometrics March 2017 and have just received a letter scheduling my interview. Mine will be close to a year by the time I have my oath ceremony
