Hi everyone! I am a little confused as to what I should do about my fiancé's (petitioner's) address now that he has two (sort of) and I'm not sure how big of a deal addresses are for this process? I hope I can explain our situation without being too confusing. I would ask our lawyer what to do but considering she didn't know what a DS 160, packet 3, or packet 4 was, I figured you all might know more! I'll try to make this as clear as possible.

The first address, is his mom's address where he has lived this whole time (we're 22 and finishing up school), it's the address we have used for all of our paperwork so far, he gets all of his mail there, the address on his tax return is this one,  his job of three years (full time weekend shift for three days) is in this town, and his old license is this address. So basically everything through this k1 process we have used this address so far because that's where he has been living this whole time.

The second address, is his apartment that he JUST JUST moved into a couple weeks ago to get ready for me to go there assuming the interview goes well. It is an hour away from the other address in a much larger town where he and all of his siblings play hockey and he eventually plans on finding a new job there in the future. Other than his new drivers license and the rent contract and rent bills, that is the only 'mail' he has with this new address. When we order things online for the apartment we still use both the old address, and new apartment address for delivery depending on who will be home and when. He still lives at his mom's on the weekends when he is working, but during weekdays he is at the apartment. He wont fully live at the apartment until I get there.

When they ask me at the interview what his address is, should I say the apartment since I guess he now lives there even though its only part of the week? Should I tell them both addresses and quickly explain the situation and that he just moved but we still use both addresses for mail? If I say the apartment address is this going to mess anything up with the process and getting my visa considering we had to use the first address for everything so far? Is the address important or do they just ask to know where to mail information?

Thanks so much for your help!! I apologize that I wrote a lot and I really appreciate any helpful information you can give me! My interview is in two weeks!

Congratulations on your up coming interview.

First off, I understand that you are nervous - but you can relax.   Canada is an extremely low immigration fraud country.  If you have a genuine relationship and everything is truly legitimate between you and your fiance, you will be fine.

If you haven't already - make sure to read the VJ reviews regarding the K1 Visa interview process in Montreal.  Many VJ members, including myself, have written reviews and gave information on what to expect and what kind of questions that will be asked during your interview :

The interview was very relaxed, and all the staff treated my Canadian fiance (now wife) very well.

As far as your concerns with your address, just be honest.  I just asked my wife, and she said the interviewer never asked her if she knew my mailing address.  I doubt they'll ask you either.  If they do, then be honest.  Your fiance is currently living with his family, and slowly transitioning into a new apartment once this K1 Visa is approved.  So at this time, you don't know the exact address where you will be moving to.  Most likely his parent's house for a short term, then into a new apartment once the K1 Visa is approved and you move to the US.

Don't stress....you guys will be fine!
