First post here, forgive me, but I'm actually running out of places to turn to help a fellow Univ classmate immigrate to the US. And as only a friend (a natural born US Cit), I do not have direct access to use USCIS services, forums are where i can turn to (i hope).

The question is: What is the average wait time for a I-130 Petition for Alien Relative, specifically for a Immediate family child.

Here is a timeline of what has happened so far:

Petition filed by her father (US Citizen)

Case received at NSC/Priority Date: July 05, 2016

Notice Date: July 07, 2016

Case transferred to Local Office (Reno, NV): January 12, 2017

After that nothing, still no NOA-2, all follow-ups with USCIS is fruitless and is considering the congressman route, with the application standing at 19 months since filing and 10 months since last update.

Other info: She is under 21 & unmarried

Any advice for the case?

Regards

-Big

Filed: IR-1/CR-1 Visa Country: Morocco

It looks like they are processing January now so hopefully not too much longer.

Your friend should make her own account so others can assist her better. If she creates a timeline on here it gives her resources like estimated visa approval and connects her w others from her area going through same.

I didn't know this until as of typing this, but she has made and posted on her account, her case and situation, but looking at her post, it was only posted Yesterday morning PST. I'll give it some time for development.

But based off your post, regardless if the case is forwarded to local office from NSC, the processing still follows the NSC time table?

This case looks like mine because my visa I-130 and filed by my father. I am above 21yrs and my priority date was Dec 2010.My visa was approved this year 2017. See photo below. Though the processing times may differ if your friend is younger than 21. Hope this helps, i had to respond because this forum was really helpful when I was still waiting. Goodluck

Thank you for taking the time to reply. It'll give us some ease that there are others with similar cases like hers

Cheers!
