There's been a couple of threads here and there about the issue of coming to the interview with an expired passport, and overall, sounds like the general conclusion is that an expired passport is no biggie.

However, my situation is slightly different because I lost my now-expired passport several years ago and never replaced it. That said, I didn't leave the country in the last 7 years at least, so I'm guessing it shouldn't be an issue since it sounds like the passport's main use is to verify entry/exit dates. I do have a copy of the main pages in the old passport, but not of the stamp pages.

Has someone been in a similar situation of coming to the interview without a passport and can share their experience?

As a little more background, I'm applying under the 3 year clause having been married to a US citizen.

Finally had my interview today, and everything was ok from a passport perspective. Upon arriving, the interviewer asked for ID, GC, and passport. I said I lost the passport a few years back but haven't traveled internationally in more than 5 years. The interviewer was ok with it, and we proceeded with everything else.
