We've applied for my adjustment of status at the begining of December (06) and I just got my NOA for my interview yesterday (for the end of June). I've been reading about a lot of other Canadian/USC cases and it seems their timelines are much much longer. Why is ours so short?

Also, what does touching mean?

If you could answer your first question, and write a book about it, then I think you'd make a fortune. Perhaps one reason was cause you did a great job of pulling together all the information that the forms asked. Perhaps you had an overachiever looking at your case. Perhaps it's totally random! :)

Touches refer to your case status being updated online. When you log onto your Case Status site, you will see a "last updated" column https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp . Everyone refers to that as a "touch". But it looks like you are past that stage now with an interview!! Congrads!

AOS:

2007-02-22: Sent AOS /EAD

2007-03-06 : NOA1 AOS /EAD

2007-03-28: Transferred to CSC

2007-05-17: EAD Card Production Ordered

2007-05-21: I485 Approved

2007-05-24: EAD Card Received

2007-06-01: Green Card Received!!

Removal of Conditions:

2009-02-27: Sent I-751

2009-03-07: NOA I-751

2009-03-31: Biometrics Appt. Hartford

2009-07-21: Touched (first time since biometrics) Perhaps address change?

2009-07-28: Approved at VSC

2009-08-25: Received card in the mail

Naturalization

2012-08-20: Submitted N-400

2013-01-18: Became Citizen

The timeline for your AOS interview is based on your district office and not on where you are from. You should compare yourself to those that interviewed at the same local office and no others.

07/18/2005 Consulate Received package from NVC

11/09/2005 Medical

11/16/2005 Interview APPROVED

12/05/2005 Visa received

Well supposedly the West Palm Beach office is pretty new, so maybe that's why?
