Bespoke Letter from Embassy for Foreign Police Certificate

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone could share any experience on this...

I am required to obtain a Hong Kong Police Certificate as I have lived there for over 2 years.
The Hong Kong Police Dept is requiring a written letter from the US embassy stating the request for the police certificate and the reason for the request (Fiancé K-1 purposes) along with my case number and full name.

Does anyone have any experience in getting the London US Embassy to write a bespoke letter for them to obtain foreign police certificates?

HK wont issue the release of it unless the letter is as above. Some people have reported that a Packet 3 letter and a Embassy Checklist wont suffice with them and they require the bespoke letter.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Sunjay

From the London list of documents needed found here https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/required-documents/

They are aware that certain certificates are obtained directly by them. You can use the contact form and ask them how/when that happens.

Required for all countries where you have lived for more than 12 months since the age of 16 and any country where you have been arrested, even if you were not resident there.  U.S. police certificates are not required.  Police certificates from certain countries are unavailable or are obtained directly by this office.  Fingerprints are required for certain countries. A list of UK police stations who can provide fingerprinting services is available from the Embassy website, here. (PDF – 337kb) Foreign police certificates are valid indefinitely, unless you have returned to reside in that country or has been arrested since the issuance of the certificate;

Thanks @Wuozopo.

I have submitted a request with details on Friday Morning via the contact form.

Let’s hope they respond back soon.
