No one can say for sure when your interview date might be----everyone's cases move differently depending on variable factors.

If you plan on going on vacation, make sure you have someone checking your mail and can let you know when/if the interview letter arrives so that you can plan accordingly to be back in time to attend it.  Normally, they send out the appointment letter nearly a full month before the actual interview date so that buys you a little bit of time as well.

Hi there! My husband is also a Chicago filer and he has been in line for interview since July 3, 2017. I believe Chicago office is processing March 2017 applications as of right now. So basically it is quite a wait.

I suggest you do what you feel is best for you.  Along with the advice I gave in my last post about having someone check your mail incase you need to cut your vacation time short.

Chances are you won't have your interview date before the end of 2017, but no one can say for sure as everyone's case moves differently.  When I filed, I was inline on August 14th, and had my interview date on September 27th.  (NY office, which is usually incredibly backlogged).  Some people who went inline before me or right after are still waiting.

As a July filer you probably have time before the interview, but I would definitely have someone check your mail. You can also sign up for mail delivery notifications through usps.com. That way you know what's in your mail before it reaches your house. If you e-filed then you can also check your status online and usually they send you PDF of your interview letter.

Safe travels!

Hi all,

I'm a March 29th Chicago filer with NOA of April 7th.  Been inline since April 27th and haven't changed to "interview scheduled" yet, if that gives you some indication...

My husband applied March 21 (Chicago, paper/NBC application).   He's been inline since April 21.  We got a text last week - 10/18 that he has been scheduled for an interview.  Once we get the actual physical letter with the date, I'll let you know.

Seems like Chicago is finally moving again!

As an FYI, his interview was scheduled for Nov 22 - so almost exactly a month from when he received the letter.
