So I think we messed up a bit and I just need some reassurance as I'm stressing out now. We got our NVC number today and it says in transit, however the problem is that we filed the DS-160 on Saturday.. I just didn't think that I needed to wait until it showed ready to file it. Under the status where it says it transit it also says that we will be given our interview date by the NVC?? I'm so confused as to what to do now. Should we just file a new DS-160 when it shows ready? How bad have we really messed this up?

You haven't messed up don't worry! I filed my DS-160 whilst the 'in transit' status was showing and I had no issues. Got approved on June 30th and I'm now in the US with AOS pending !! NVC won't contact you , that is for a spousal visa CR1 only, so don't worry about that , even though it says so on the website. You will book your own interview 😗 good luck!!

The embassy will send you a letter to confirm they have received your application and the link to their website. Which is here https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/the-interview/

It tells you all the steps you need to take and documents needed. Hope this helps 😗

Agree. If the link let you in to proceed, then you're in. Nobody is reading your DS-160 ahead of time. It is just sitting there. Everything will be reviewed at your interview. There is no pre-approval or RFE on forms submitted online at this stage. Everything (application, medical, petition file) will be pulled together prior to your interview and your officer will look over it in the minutes while you are called to his window.
