i just filled out the i-864 with my joint sponsor. He did married filing jointly for taxes. He gets about $24,000 from SSDI a year and his wife gets around $12,000 from SSDI. It says on their taxes they get $36,000 social security benefits a year but that is combined. Would his wife need to do an i-864 also? or is it fine just to put him for their combined income. With just his 24,000 a year I am still below the poverty line.

As primary sponsor, even though you do not meet the required income, you must complete your own I864 with the requested documentation.

As joint sponsor, he must complete the I864 with all necessary documentation and evidence, and she need to complete the I864a, again with all documents needed.

for the I184A does she have to sign or does he sign the I864A also?
I was just looking at the form and it says "Sponsor's Signature". I am assuming her information only goes where it says "Household member"
