Hey all so we just received our Noa2 back and I was under impression that you could have a co-sponsor, this is needed because my fiancé has spent the last year in England visiting me and not working (Just going to school online in the US). He's from GA, can anyone tell me how much he would need? I think the last year he  received $17200 and the year before $25000 and the year before a lot more because he was in the military.

His dad would co- sponsor me but is this allowed?

Yes, you can have a co-sponsor. The co-sponsor is responsible for all dependents under their household size (not just you) and both your fiance and co-sponsor must be up to date with their tax requirements.

Thanks for your reply. What form do co-sponsors file is it the i1864 form?

The poverty guidelines for 2 people is 16,240, so he's actually still within the guidelines for last year. He needs to be making that income currently.

A cosponsor is generally allowed, although it's always on a case by case basis.

Cool thanks for your reply, I think student money with his veteran money equates to 17000$ and he's still in full time school.

Will that go against us that he's still in school and not currently got a job ( he's still here in England his visa expires November 22nd so hoping on all going back together).

I was mistaken last year he made 25k & the year before 30k. So still within the threshold. His dad said he doesn't mind filing for a co sponsor also, would that be the i1864 form? I am also a registered nurse & have applied to take the US nclex ( nursing exam) so hopefully they take that into consideration?

Your income is irrelevant in this case unfortunately - or even your future potential. An unemployed student could file a K1 for her multi-millionaire fiance and they would still need a co-sponsor.

Him being a student is irrelevant too.

Have you gotten your interview date yet? If not - it is very unlikely that you will be complete by November 22nd. If he wants to file for an extension (idk if that's a thing?) he should do it ASAP. Is he taking online classes and that's how he's "in school"?

Once you get your NOA2 your case has to be transferred to the NVC (about 4 weeks) then to your country (2-3 weeks) then the interview scheduled so unfortunately it could still be a little bit. I'm not sure what the length of time is for scheduling an interview in the UK - when my fiance did it, we had to wait 3 months for a date. You could maybe post in the UK forum and see about others who've recently tried scheduling.
