Has anyone else encountered this situation?

When I received my NOA-2 it stated ..

Courtesy Copy: Original sent to: Jones, Maria V

This courtesy notice is to advise you of action taken on this case. The official notice has been mailed to the attorney or representative indicated above. Any relevant documentation included in the notice was also mailed as part of the official notice.

hmmm, I don't have a lawyer or representative retained for the processing of my petition/visa, Mylene and I did it all ourselves with the help of the guides and posts on VJ.

Does anyone know if this will affect the process or can I just leave it alone and let it die? NVC said that I could send an email to remove the third party if I so wished, but is there any need to?

Thanks,

CB

CB,

I think I would send a request to the NVC to remove Ms Jones from the case, not knowing what USCIS screw-up got her name associated with the case in the first place.

I think I would also try to contact her office to find out if she has received any information about your case. She may be as confused as you if she has, and if she hasn't then maybe the screw-up is only on the notice and not embedded in 'the system'.

Better email them back to let them know that there's no third party/lawyer involved when you filed your petition. Let them know that you and Mylene was the one who did all the preparation of those papers and no lawyer involved. I'm wondering where they get the idea that you used a lawyer, is somebody signed below all the application other than you and Mylene?

I think what might have happened is that, that person was setting up their online case, and mistakenly typed their reciept number (which ended up being yours), and she was entered on as a recipient to your case. She might be wondering why she's getting notices on your case, instead of hers.

meauxna,

I already contacted their office by submit form from that website and I simply forgot to mention it in my previous posts.

Thanks for the help none the less.
