Police Certificate from Beijing, China - Problems

6 posts in this topic

Hi everyone. I'm from London but lived in China for 3 years teaching English. I'm in the US now and I'm trying to get my police certificates from Beijing. I had multiple work visas so I thought it wouldn't be a problem getting them. I've had friends call the PSB, other agencies, notaries, and no luck. Everyone is giving us the run around and saying they either no longer provide it or to go to another office. I'm thinking of not getting it and just having my work write a letter but I'm nervous they won't accept that. Did anyone else here have similar problems? If so, how did you go about getting your police certificates from China? I'm stressing out! :(

Good luck on that! Anything needed for anything related to China is a pain in the a$$. They don't like to give any NON Chinese citizen any police clearances.

I used to live there as well for 2 years but no need for me to mention that on my petition because I wasn't a resident and I was on a tourist multiple entry visa and maintained a US mailing address.

Lucky you! I was on a tourist visa for a brief time but then switched to a work visa!
