I was really turned off by her comment that being with an American is some how " de manizing" I have a friend from Morocco who was married to an american and they divorced but he was looking for an american wife and gave up and went back home and got hooked up with a Moroccan. All he does is complain to me about her ( he is one of my best friends) He said he cant wait to come back to the states and says he just changed alot and cant relate to the materialism. He told me when an American woman loves you its for you.. he told me he feels like his wallet is open when he deals with arabs.. Each person is unique and different and so is every relationship.

I am still just astounded we accept this line of b.s. from arab men. First, we are the BIGGEST MATERIALIST SOCIETY ON EARTH, and every single one of us on here work and buy stuff all the time that we think nothing about, but an arab women will rarely get the chance to have in her life. And these men get this stuff by being married to us so it's outrageous they can talk about their countrywomen like this.

And let's not get into American women who marry for money ALL THE TIME. It hasn't been so long that we were taught as girls to marry a man with a good job so you'll be secure all your life, and some girls still get that line today.

And what about all the gifts we or our husbands take back with them when they visit home? This stuff isn't just going to female relatives. Men want just as much from amreeka, and often have no problem asking for far more expensive things (electronics) while women want much less expensive things.

all i know is that when i go to algeria next time ( soon) I am just bringing stuff for the kids... I have friends who tell me they cant go home unless they have saved 5000 dollars so they can give everyone money

I would say the same thing about how it's ok to doubt the relationships between women who are much older than their husbands or overweight, or whatever you are not. It seems to be the other way around when it's about what you are. Since the majority of the women here are non-Arab, non-Muslim, better off economically and involved with a man from a culture substanstially different than their own, I didn't expect anything less than what came after what I said because it's hard to hear what affects you being spoken of in the negative.

So, it must be ok to most that older women and fat women remain the only group that can be targeted as "odd". But, the fact remains that just because you're not much older or not Arab or not Muslim doesn't exempt you from fraud either. It may feel safe to point your fingers at someone else, but then you have four fingers pointing back at you.

Frankly, as an Arab, I do have insight on this lacking in most of you, deny it or not.

I respect your opinion as an Arab and many post that you have put up I have learned about Arab culture and I appreciate your sharing. On the other hand it seems a bit cruel of you to generalize Arab men or women in this way especially as relating to the ppl here on this site. I do know that it is very difficult for women to find work in Egypt and difficult for men too for that matter.

However, stating that relationships here on VJ (I am not sure which ones you are referring to) are not valid because of age, weight, monetary status, etc is very judgemental on your part. Just because you are Arab descent does not qualify you to attack (that is what it looks like in this post),maybe you didn't mean it to come across that way but it does) the validity of relationships here on this site. No one can judge the validity of a relationship truly except the ppl who are in it. IMHO

But if they haven't an interest in these Arab women, or haven't in 34 years found one that they can live their life with, why fault these men for going elsewhere?

Even here in the US if I were to marry a man I would most probably be making more than him too just because of the nature of my situation. If I were to wait around for someone who could contribute more than me then I would most definitely be single the rest of my life.

BTW, since you failed to read carefully, I was stating that it is easy to point out fat women or older women as fraud targets. That's not my issue. When I added non-Arab, non-Muslim women to the mix, that's when people got upset. Crticism of fat women and older women involved with Arab men is de rigor here.

I can't speak for anyone else, but my husband has never allowed me to pay for anything when I am with him. If the exchange rate were not so bad for egyptian pound he would send me money here to help with the expenses here. No one in his family has ever asked me for anything except my time to spend with them when I have been in Egypt. I took gifts and they were gracious about them but stated they did not expect me to bring them gifts. All ppl in Egypt i have met work very hard yes, but are very self-sufficient including the women. Not all the women in the family have jobs outside the home, but quite a few of them in Cairo do. The ones living out side of Cairo have a more difficult time finding work. Not all men or women need to stay in their homelands!!! This world is an open place and from what i could see in Egypt there were still plenty of ppl there regardless of how many are immigrating to other countries. Sam has friends that have gone to France for work, Netherlands, Dubai, etc and he was in Vienna for a short time.

I have not separated the women that are on this site as arab or non-arab as far as being pointed out for "odd" relationships. Only the fact that you cannot tell what is in that relationship as an outside person regardless of ethinicity. You are trying to make this all about ethnicity when really it is just about respect for other ppl. There can be red flags for each relationship to address, but that doesn't mean that relationship should be questioned as to the validity. ANY relationship once we finally are together can run into hard times no matter how solid a foundation in the beginning or even further down the road.

Ehether it does or doesn't, I am not anti arab. I am anti know it all and the things you say are just bogus. You did not make my list cause I am not here to create lists or be right.
