Hello all,

My wife and I are getting close to our interview date 8/14!

Start to get a little nervous....

For the people that already had the interview....any tips or anything extra you suggest us to bring with us?

We do have joint account so we will be able to provide bank statements but house, utility, electric bills, and water bills are only under my name so there is nothing I can proof there.

We will provide photos with family and friends.

What kind of questions were asked during the interview?

Please share your experiences!!

I don't know who's the applicant, you or your wife. But I'd suggest that the applicant brings mail that s/he received in their name as well. Just because only one of you have your name on the utility bills doesn't mean they don't want to see other types of mail sent to the applicant. Such mail shows that the applicant most likely live on that address for instance. I brought a lot of letters and other types of mail I had received, quite a few letters sent to my address here in the US from agencies in my home country as well, that showed I'm registered on this American address even in my home country.

If you and your wife have health insurance together, car insurance, maybe you adopted a pet and the contract has both your names on it, invitation letters in both your names, State ID or drivers license that shows the address etc.

Either way I don't think it's going to be that important, they know you have only been married and living together for a very short time, there's only so much you can gather during such a short time.

However, it will be important for the next step in the immigration process, so I suggest the applicant gets added to as many things as possible as early as possible. Applicant's name should be on all utility bills that you can possibly fix (I know all companies don't allow two names on the contract, but some do), you both should be beneficiaries on each other's health- and/or life insurance, car insurance in both your names, wills, power of attorney, house loan, car loan etc - these things will definitely come in handy when it's time to remove conditions, so start planning for that already (it's just a bunch of examples of things USCIS likes to see).

I got questions like these on my AOS interview:

-My full name
-My address
-My DOB
-My husband's name
-The wedding date
-My nationality
-What I used to work with in Sweden
-If I had been married before
-If my husband had been married before
-If I had children
-If my husband has children
-He asked my husband what he does for a living
-What my plans are here in the US (like work and such)
-My education level
-My husband's education level
etc.....just regular normal questions

And then he asked the questions from the i-485 (if I was a terrorist, spy, prostitute, alcoholic, drug user, communist, criminal past, if I had applied for a greencard before, what date I entered the US on my K-1, if I had travelled outside the US since etc..).

I was asked who is petitioning for you? How long have you been married? When is your anniversary? How many kids do you have? When were your children born? When and how did you enter the United States? How old were you when you entered the United States? Those are the questions I was asked.

But did you adjust from a K-1?
