Timeline

How long it will take to get through customs will depend on the airport and how busy they are. My husband flew into Salt Lake City, UT and did customs here. It wasn't very busy, but it still took him about an hour and a half. Since he was the only one on his flight immigrating to the US they had him come through last. 

 

He was asked to provide the agent with unopened packet her received at DHL, along with his xRay from the hospital and his passport. They also asked him why he came to Utah. That was it. Pretty simple.

I thought you only needed the unopen packet. You have to provide the medical xray to  is that inside the unopen packet ?

My husband told me he had a smaller version of his X-ray that he carried in his carry-on bag. The embassy may have placed the larger one submitted during the interview in the sealed packet as well, but I am not sure.
