I stumble upon these few people on the internet who are filling out their DS 160 online. Some are asked to fill out their previous history. This one particular guy had 5 previous work history but the DS160 only lets him add two rows that means two previous job only. But that's not the problem. The problem is because in my DS 160, I wasn't asked for a previous work history AT ALL. I reviewed it several times, maybe I missed something but there's none. Zero. Nothing. Although it asks for my present employment but that's all about it. It shows no follow up questions about my past jobs. Neither does my Educational Background. I have a Bachelor's Degree but there's no question about it in my DS 160. Can someone explain why this is happening to me? I've checked my DS 160 and I filled everything out correctly.

I just submitted mine last week. It asked about my employment, absolutely nothing about my education.

Correct me if I am completely wrong because it was a while since I filled one out myself but isn't there somewhere on there where you specify what type of non-immigrant visa you are applying for? Different options give different questions. Double check that you did the one that applies to you.

Perhaps if someone selected they are a student it will ask for education background huh? When I was applying for my B2 a couple of years ago, I was already working and when I submitted for my K-1 last week, again it only ever asked about employment.

Nice catch!

Yes, I already did that. I'm travelling to the US for pleasure so I chose Non-immigrant and then B2, B1 says something like Business Pleasure but B1 doesn't apply to me since I'm visiting there purely for leisure not for business.

Yes, this makes sense. Maybe that's the case. To me, I am employed and not a student. This is probably the reason why Educational background doesn't show to some people. But what about the previous work history though? I don't see it in my DS 160 but some people have these options where you should enter your previous work history.

I noticed there was a difference in my DS 160 for J1 and F1. So yes, questions will be different depending on what you answer on your questions.

For K1 you fill out DS 260. 160 is non immigrant. 260 is immigrant.

There's no need to give yourself a nervous breakdown :jest: If you have filled every blank and re-checked prior to signing and submitting, you're all good. If there are no extra blanks for you, that pretty much means there's nothing else for you to complete.

Your current employment is more important in the form because they wanna know what's your job and how much you are making. That tells them your financial ability.

I don't know about the tourist visa because I never traveled on it. But it could be that for some visa applications it would be more relevant for example the J1 visa.

Actually for K-1 we use DS-160 because it is a non immigrant visa with an immigrant intent but of course this is a whole other discussion :)

Sorry, I'm a little rusty, it's been a while :)

Not to worry. I get confused, forgetful, rusty etc all the time. That's why people have corrected me on multiple occasions on the forum :D
