Hello,

While I am waiting for the NVC to send me my case, I am completely confused on what document I submit for the affidavit of support.  I lived in Morocco with my husband for the past  2 years, where I did not work (thus no need to file Federal Income Tax).  I returned home in January to get the paperwork started.  I am teacher and January is not the time to get a job. I have gotten a job starting August first making well over the required income.  On my work contract, it lists my yearly salary.  I really do not want to do a joint application, but is it necessary. There is sufficient money in my account and I start getting paid in August.  What is the best way for me to fill out this part of the application without delaying the process?  Any advice is welcome.

Thank-You.

When you say there is sufficient money in your account, do you mean more than x3 the poverty level for your household?  If so, file now, with evidence of that, and send paystubs in time for the interview.

If  you only have some savings, but not enough to sponsor on savings alone, I would probably wait and send the documents to NVC once you have at least one biweekly paycheck, then send more paychecks to your husband in time for interview, perhaps with a letter from your principal saying you are doing well and this is a long term position.
