Does anybody know if it is normal to be placed on AP without any written notice??? My husband was verbally told that our case was placed on AP when his passport was returned to him a few days after the interview.

We have been on AP for 4 months now. I don't have to tell you that it's a very frustrating process especially when you have to deal with an Embassy that doesn't give you any information or updates no matter how many times you call or email the request...

Personally I dont think theres anything normal with the whole process nothing really fits together every consulate have their own way of doing things. Every delay seems to fit into this magical mysterious word AP or AR! I wasnt given any written notice or verbal instructions about being put on AP.

I can immagine how frustrating it is because me and wife are going thru the exact process as well as many others here. All we can do is support each other and pray to God that our journey has a happy ending! Goodluck.

So sorry about it. :crying: I have only heard of people getting the 221g or other form when they are on AP. Are there others out there who are on AP without any written communication??

What did the Consular Officer tell your husband at the interview? That it was pending or what? Usually keeping the passport is a good sign, it is scary to think they would keep the passport then return it saying he was on AP!

Wishing you fast process and visa being granted soon.

Thanks for the well wishes. I did contact DOS and was told that the Embassy has our petition on AP and could make a decision today if the CO felt she had enough information which I don't understand. A CO should be able to make a decision with all the PCCs and other documentation they were given. I feel as though we lose our rights when the petition gets to the Embassy level. When I contacted my Congressional Rep, I was told that everyone is supposed to get something in writing. I'll let you know if our Congressional Rep was able to help us.

Best of luck to those on AP...
