It's time for my wife (freshly wedded) and I to apply for her adjustment of status for her and her daughter.  I'm a US Citizen.  My understanding is that I fill out an I-485 for her, and a separate one for her daughter, and a form I-765 for my wife.  I include the fees for both her and her daughter and the form 765 in the same packet to be mailed.  I purchased a book from Nolo on the process about 1-1.5 years ago.  Is all this correct?

Questions:

1) Am I forgetting anything, or anything extra that is not obvious to know about this?

2) The check for their fees, I attach separate fees to each form for simplicity sake?

Thanks in advance.

You have to make 2 AOS packages.

You need a lot more then those forms.

Look at the instructions with the form on USCIS webpage and also look at the top tap 'guide' in this forum.

When filing with mon the K-2 only need a copy of the financial form from the moms package and also gets a reduced fee.

The child will need the EAD also to be able to get a SSN number before the GC comes.

Thanks, I have ready form 765 for my wife, and a biometric form ready for both, and also an 864 for my wife.  The EAD I can request for her daughter?  She's 7 so can't work, but I assume I can add the form 765 with her daughter also (separate form filed at the same time)?

What is AP?

Can both AOS be sent in same envelope?

Yes it has to be sent in the same envelope!

AP is the documents that they use to get into the country again if they leave on vacation or family emergency and since AOS can take a year and AP as well as EAD are free I would recommend you to file it for both of them. Then they will receive a EAD/AP combo card.
