After you get married you need I-130, it was $430 but all fees went up, it actually would have went faster if you did the fiance visa, after you marry someone that process is long, I got married in Dominican Republic to my spouse and filed the I-130 and it was a long process, fiance visa is 3 months they arrive in your home country and can work, you have to get married in 90 days and then start paying all the expensive fees to the government.

@Theresa Famiia they can't work right away on a K1 whereas when filing an I-130 they are allowed to look for work or work immediately (This was one of the reasons my husband and I chose to go this route because he didn't want to sit around unemployed for 3 months) ...They have to sit it out for 3 months on the Fiancé Visa and then apply for their EAD once those 3 months are up...The fees for filing I-130 has gone up to $535.00...Yes the process takes anywhere from 12 - 14 months, but I feel it's worth it as well as cheaper...Although I would like for my husband to be here as soon as soon, but I feel it gives me time to plan and prepare for when he gets here, so I have no regrets filing the I-130. This also allows you to make another trip to see your better half while your petition is in process and to submit new evidence when it comes to the NVC side of it which is known as side loading.

OP you will need to file the I-130...Please be sure to gather all your evidence (chat logs, phone logs, travel itineraries, photos with him family, and close friends, any other proof to show a bona-fide marriage). These are only a few I mentioned. However, I am wishing you well on your process..
