NVC requested my wife to send copy of affidavit of support to me

We are waiting for our checklist case to be complete by NVC, our checklists requested was received and scanned on the 1st of May,2017 by the NVC. They requested from my wife to make a correction from the affidavit of support about the size of the house and then send it to me for the interview. She is preparing to send it to me now, I just want to know if she can add any additional documents to what she will be sending to me, although we used co-sponsor in our filing process. Did I need to let her send me W2 and letter from her work to me also? And the co-sponsor too. We are just trying to prepare ahead for the interview because we really don't want further delay again. We just need guidelines from the members for the documents we should get to the embassy for the interview.

She certainly CAN send you additional documents. Will it be requested since you have (need?) a joint sponsor anyway, not necessarily. Do you have her most recent tax return/transcript?

I don't have her most recent tax return/ transcript. But she is going to send it to me.

If you had originally sent 2015 tax information for your joint sponsor and they now have 2016 tax transcripts/W2s available, then I would definitely suggest have them send it to you prior to your interview just in case since there is a small chance they will ask for it (depending on your embassy - I couldn't tell where you will be interviewing since you didn't have a timeline).

 

If your wife has additional information, it doesn't hurt to have a photocopy of it at the interview as well.  As someone mentioned earlier, if your joint sponsor has sufficient income, then this is less significant but there is always the chance that NVC will ask for it.  Not having it should not delay your case as long as your joint sponsor's income satisfies the requirements.

 

Also, make sure you accurately reflect the household income on the I-864 form(s).  If this is wrong, then it may delay your case.  Make sure it has an ink signature, whether original or photocopied.
