Getting help from Congressman to expedite Visa process

Perhaps if you could provide a little more information, we could better help you out. Please fill in your timeline! I see that you filed your petition at Texas Service Center, but do not know when. Usually there is a 2.5 - 3 month wait for petitions filed at this service center to be approved, but this is just an average time. There are people on this board that have waited a significantly longer amount of time, closer to 4 or 5 months.

At this time, I'm not sure that involving the potential help of a congressman would be beneficial, unless your case is past the processing times listed on the USCIS website for your processing center. This date for Texas is currently September 2006, I believe. If your NOA1 is dated before then, maybe contacting your congressman would help. If you filed after Sept 2006, I don't think there is much they can do to help at this point.

Maybe others here would have better ideas...but you really need to provide us w/ a little more information so we can best assist you.

If you have a valid reason for expediting your case, you don't need help from a congressman. Submit an expedite request detailing why you qualify. If you don't have a valid reason for an expedite, your congressman cannot create one for you.

Is the USC in the military? That is always a good reason to request an expedited visa. Good luck

just remember, everyone here wants their fiancee here sooner than the normal processing times as well ..

It doesn't work well with the military, my unit is on "PTDO or Prepare to Deploy on Order", not very official, but is a notice that if the flag goes up, you will leave in two weeks...yeah, my expedite was turned down even with Congressional help...so officially after the K-1 is finished, i am done with the military and the government...I have 13 years in and am an officer...

Long story short, congressman told me expeidte almost never works, especially CSC, even the Congressmen know about them...
