Morning we have a lawyer, my pd is September 16, 2016 and our case is at Potomac service center.

We had the same problem.

When USCIS received our paperwork, we waited almost 2 months to get the AOS1 in the mail. I don’t know why it took so long.

March 21, 2017 we got an update on USCIS saying the mail returned back to USCIS because the post office couldn’t deliver the mail.

My lawyer request a copy of the letter. We waited and still never get the letter then they request it again and all I saw was on April 14, 2017 RFE was received and Potomac will begin to work on your case again.

I don’t know if they ever did get the letter and what RFE they needed from us.

Today we still waiting to be approved yeah I know we have 30-60 days to be approved.

You need to call them and let them know you never received the letter.

On my app I saw 3 RFE was mailed on April 10 2016 and May 10, 2016.

USCIS is just simple it hard, why they can’t just email the RFE instead mailing it. They know they will have more RFE  to review then it is now because they is mail it and not everyone will get it plus the mailing is delay sometimes.

by the way Kynight make a timeline so we can get a better understand for timeframe and when to expect to get approved etc well not for USCIS but for all of us.

I wish you and your lawyer luck. I read that the Potomac center is fairly new so maybe not completely operation like the others. I don't see how mail can get lost so easily. I receive all my other mail with no problem. When they say "march 8th a letter mailed" that's obviously not true. How can they mail a letter on a specific date yet say to expect it 4 weeks later? Mail shoudn't take any longer than 3 or 4 days. It's all automated. I think some reps just plow through their daily work without regard to accuracy. It's become time consuming, like throwing darts into the bullseye and hoping it sticks.

I will make a timeline shortly.

It's common knowledge on here that they're underfunded/understaffed/overworked with caseloads.  They do not receive government funding and work strictly off of our fees.

it can hurt to ask as she could lose her ability to visit anymore before her visa comes.  The wrong day and border guard and they could turn her right around.  You could have all of the documentation in the world and it could happen.  It's happened to many a Canadian on here before myself included

I don't feel like I received my $420 fee's worth of help. It needs to be automated to save money. They have many employees who can't really help people the first time around.

She will be stuck in Canada even if she doesn't ask. If I could just get the request for evidence we should get our interview (if necessary) within a couple months. So we may decide based on if we get the basic letter that we should have received in March. If we don't get it soon we may just stay in Canada... and I'll have to run my butt off trying to make a living at the same time.
