Conflicting Advice, Please help!

So I came on F1 and am now married to USC and filing for AOS. I had a complete name change before I came but forgot to mention it in my F1 application. I had it legally changed in the country of origin and have the necessary affidavit and declaration in the newspaper to show for it. Long story short I consulted 2 attorneys in this issue and this is what they advised. 


Attorney 1: Send your birth certificate (which has my old name) and mention the old name in "other names used". Do not send anything else(such as affidavit of name change) or it would draw unnecessary attention. Just take it to the interview.

Attorney 2: Send your birth certificate and the affidavit of name change which was used to change my name as USCIS would need documentation showing that I legally changed my name in the country of origin. Take a letter of explanation to the interview which explains your error as an honest mistake.

Any advice is appreciated.

5/1/2017: Case received by Manila (1 week embassy transfer??? Lucky~)

7/13/2017: Interview: APPROVED!!!

7/19/2017: Visa in hand

8/15/2017: POE
