Hi everyone!!

I sent my N400 on 19th December 2016. It's arrived 21st December 2016. However, it's April 2017 and the money has still not been taken out of my account and I haven't gotten an NOA or anything. I filed at Nebraska under INA 319(b) because my husband is in the army and we are stationed overseas.

I called the military hotline and after contacting Nebraska they said that there is a dispute as to if they should charge the old fee or new fee, since the fee was changed in 23rd Dec 2016 and once that is resolved then they will proceed with my N400. Apparently there are many applications sent that week and USCIS is deciding if they should charge based on when you sent it in or when they put it in their system.

Is anyone else going though this? I'm at my wits end.

non-military filers on another forum reported several scenarios. Some files got rejection note within 10 days, others were accepted as-is. It mattered I guess whether the mail arrived at the lockbox by midnight on the final day.

One option is to call them, and ask for file to be rejected; Then resubmit the file with a new check. The benefit is, case will start being processed; the drawback is, the priority date will be set in April or later (as opposed to Dec). Priority date matters, as case goes through interview scheduling; cases with earlier processing date seem to be scheduled earlier.

Another option is to file a second application with a new check. Several applicants reported doing so on another forum; few even submitted three (3) applications (online and paper); then waited to see which ones get processed faster.

Lastly, there is option to just wait it out.
