Hello Harvardiv

My husband and i's case was in admin processing from July 2015 until April 2017. The US Embassy in Ghana had sent our case back to the USCIS. The USCIS has recently re-approved our case and send it back to the State Department. Do you know what should happen now. I'm thinking the state department now has to get an interview at the Embassy in Ghana and send our paperwork back there. And then my husband goes for his interview. Do you think this is correct or is there something else that has to be done after having been in Admin processing for so long.

Just make sure you are getting all of your mail, because the state dept will let you know what is next by mail. Continue to wait and to be patient.  When the embassy sent your package back to uscis did the give you 214 or administrative processing?   What was the reason they had sent it back?  What are you doing to correct the problem? Also I believe Ghana is a difficult post with long wait times so your case sounds normal.  So do not worry!

They literally gave us no reason at all. He had an interview in June where they told him to bring back more info and gave him an interview for July. When he went in July, he didn't even get to show them the additional proof, they just handed him the paper, which said more processing needed to be done and not to contact them for 60 days. After 60 days we reached out and they said they were sending it back to the USCIS and to work with them from then on. But it took them 8 months to send it back to USCIS. From July 2015 then they received it Feb 29th 2016 and we had not heard 1 thing from them since then.i called them at least twice a month and checked the status everyday for the last 2 years. I eventually got fed up and started calling them multiple times a day and one day a guy got really mad at me and sent me up to escalations. It was then that i spoke to an actual agent and she told me that our case was in fact outside the normal processing time, that there was no reason why i had not heard anything, it was as if our case was just sitting there, and no one had been assigned the case at all even though it was showing assigned which is probably why i have never heard anything from anyone. She then sent a letter up to the Vermont Service center, in the meantime i reached out to both the governors office and the senators office. After doing that, everything started moving right away. I started getting notices of receipt of paperwork and info on the fact that it had been assigned etc. That was in February, and i checked the status online last week and found they had re-approved the original petition and they were sending me a letter stating so, and that they were forwarding everything back to the State Department. We've never received any notice of intent to revoke or anything at all. Just the approval of the original petition and that was just on last Wednesday.
